Had quite the eventful weekend! 
Friday after work, I packed up my younger brother and two of his friends and we hit the road to see DISCIPLE in concert. We arrived at Redemption a little early but that meant we got decent parking a good seats. A local band opened the show, Anacey. They were actually pretty good. The sound was poor at first but once it was fixed, metal commenced! Shortly after, DISCIPLE took the stage and were just AWESOME! They rocked out and even played an encore. In the hallway, I got to shake all the members’ hands before they set up to sign autographs.
The highlight, however, was afterwards when I took these four barely-teenage boys to Starbucks. And as luck would have it, Taylor had never been. We suggested something for him and he ordered it, saying “I have no idea what it is but I just paid five dollars for it!” Priceless.
Saturday, I worked with Garrett and wrapped principle photography on the music video he is doing for the band MANTICORE. We had to reshoot a couple of things from last weekend, but the main focus was shooting all of the band’s coverage. This was a rough day!! We unloaded all the band’s gear and had to lug it up and down a steep thirty foot ravine! 
Ugh. But it was all for the sake of the video and I’m really excited to see what we get out of it. I’m also really glad that we’re finished with that one! Now…it’s just a matter of which band is next in line!
Sunday marked the kick off of NewSpring’s latest series, “Illuminate,” and it was nothing shy of amazing!! There’s just something rewarding about hearing “Stairway to Heaven” being played as everyone is entering the auditorium and finding their seats. But that wasn’t enough, the band played “Cochese” by AUDIOSLAVE and “Hell’s Bells” by AC/DC!!! Tell me what church do you know that has the balls to do that!? The presentation and sermon were equally wonderful! I invited a lot of friends and actually ended up having a total of six first-time visitors join me there. I think it safe to say they were blown away!
Well I’m back at work and as always, my mind is everywhere but here. I’m thinking about this coming Sunday and what is in store. I’m thinking about the Panasonic HVX200. I’m thinking about the visit to the vet. But, mostly, I’m thinking about this new idea Gary and I are discussing. More on that as it develops!
John 15:1 – 4 (The Message)
1-3 “I am the Real Vine and my Father is the Farmer. He cuts off every branch of me that doesn’t bear grapes. And every branch that is grape-bearing he prunes back so it will bear even more. You are already pruned back by the message I have spoken.
4“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.”
