So, as I mentioned in my last post, with the end of a project comes the time for new beginnings. Of course, much of my focus will be on the next film project(s), but there’s other stuff in the works as well. Mostly, I’ve been eager to get involved at church.
I just got home from GroupLink at NewSpring. I’m very excited about it! GroupLink is where members of the church establish Home Groups of about 10 – 15 people. This is NewSpring’s answer to the lack of intimacy in “megachurches” these days. Home Groups help establish support and accountability, which all Christians need. The first meeting with my group is next Wednesday.
This past Sunday, I had a walk through with the media director of Redemption and that was really great. Upon first seeing what Redemption had, I was in awe of what they were able to accomplish. The space was extremely claustrophobic. Then, after we’d seen everything, Joe then took us on ANOTHER tour…of the upcoming facilities! I’m talking CNN. It’s gonna be awesome. Not sure I’ll be able to be a part of that or not, but I’d sure like to!
So, it certainly seems as though my involvement in church is certainly in the process of coming to fruition. With that said, it is certainly high time that the meetings begin for the upcoming Chiller TV short film competition. My boys, Ian C. King, Kevin Woods, Garrett and I have a few ideas up our sleeves. So keep a look out and keep our projects and lives in your prayers. Once this is out of the way, I’m really hoping that we’ll be able to begin discussions with a certain Christian organization and possibilities of making things happen with them.
