There’s no reason for me doing this, other than to create a grocery list for my future reference when my bleak, but healthy, budget allows for such expenditures. So here goes. A few things that I want and the reasons why. I certainly do not expect anyone to buy any of these, but if you feel so inclined…

Moleskine Notebooks. I want a few of these. Different sizes and purposes. Particularly, I want a pocket sketch pad, pocket ruled reporter journal, and a large size sketch pad and ruled journal.
I’m tired of not being equipped for when creativity hits. Which is more often that not, NOT when I’m sitting down saying to myself, “be creative, do something creative.” Usually the muse sings to me in the midst of chaos, in social settings or any other random time of the day that I’m ill-prepared!
I’m hoping that getting a few of these will give me just the tools I need for when creativity strikes. I’m an artist and a writer. I need to start acting the part!

Mark Nason boots. What can I say here except that I just like these things. They’re stylish, satin lined and just plain manly-looking. My desire here is completely materialistic. I can admit that.
They also cost a stinkin’ arm and a leg! Yeah, these boots average in price at around $400 a pair.
Me thinks it will be quite a long time before my Dave Ramsey budget will allow for a pair of these bad boys. But, man these things sure would look good along with a nice pair of Express jeans, a button down and nice pinstripe blazer. I shudder to think!

Nikon D80 digital SLR camera.
I love photography and I don’t get to enjoy it nearly enough! I miss opportunities for great shots all the time. I mean, I have a cell phone and a great 8.0 megapixel Sony Cybershot, but there’s just nothing to compare to multiple lenses and complete control of the image. From focus to aperture, it’s all decided by you.
Since their first release, I’ve wanted a digital SLR. 10.2 Megapixel and Nikon. I mean, what more do you need? Maybe a Mamiya, but no time soon!
The Complete C.S. Lewis Signature Classics book.
This is a collection of some of C.S. Lewis’ greatest Christian work, all combined in one book! I’ve not read any of these and I’m very eager to dig into them.
It contains the following works: Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, The Problem of Pain, Miracles, A Grief Observed and The Abolition of Man.
I’m wowed by this collection. I mean, these are some of Lewis’ most talked about works. Defining Christian commentary and literature of the 20th Century (and beyond). This collection has it all, and it’s cheap by all counts!
And finally, the two most obvious of my material wants.

Apple iPhone.
Yup. I’ve mentioned this gadget for quite some time now. I really like this thing. There’s no other reasoning than the undeniable “cool factor” that this phone embodies.
I’ve had PDA phones and such, but this is a Mac phone. It’s pretty! Seriously. Look at it.
I also strongly feel, in my case, that it’s worth switching carriers for. Maybe by summer time 2008 I’ll own one of these glorious geek phones!
And, finally, the supreme “want” in my life.

Yes, oh, yes. The Panasonic HVX200.
This amazing Hi-Def “prosumer” camcorder is just simply the bees knees. It has a very similar shell to its amazing predecessor, the DVX100, but it boasts the HD badging (DVCPro codec) and a few other bells and whistles, like native 16:9 CCDs and tapeless workflow via the P2 technology.
Yea. Technical mumbo jumbo.
Basically, I’m really hoping to get this camera and grab life by the horns. I believe God gave me my talents and passion for a purpose. The thought of getting my life on the tracks of His purpose thrills me. I believe this camera could help me. I could be wrong, and we’ll see.
This camera is just simply stunning. And, coupled with a 35mm lens adapter kit like M2’s RedRock, this camera produces cinema quality images! I’m very eager to get this thing and begin putting it to use. So many ideas already piling in!
Well, that’s that. A list of a few of my favorite, most wanted things.
Despite me wanting those, I cannot forget how blessed I am for all the things I already have. Not just material things. Legs. Eyes. Friends. A great church and pastor. Shelter. Food. Ambition.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the wanting more and forget all about how fortunate we are with the status quo.
