Seriously.
Am I the only one that gets petrified about standing up for themselves? I don’t mean in the confrontational sense, or in the sense of requiring reaction for the sake of defense and personal safety. I mean in situations where you feel like you are being taken advantage of. In situations where you feel like someone is abusing your vulnerabilities or circumstances.
In situations where you are simply being used.
Is it just me, or is it in those situations that so often we get so scared by the possibility of doing the wrong thing-or un-Christian thing, as we may tell ourselves, that we lay down and allow ourselves to be victimized? Why is that?
I just don’t think Jesus called us to be victims. We may suffer, but for His sake and our growth – but not just to be victimized and abused or taken advantage of.
What’s with the fear about being bold?
Imagine standing before Pharaoh (the king of Egypt – the biggest nation in the world) and saying to him that he needs to free your friends and family or else. That’s scary. And that’s bold.
Be bold.
