PS – To single guys:

If you’re a single guy out there and you love Jesus and you aren’t actively pursuing a courting relationship with Miss Tara-Leigh Cobble, I have two words for you (one of which is a contraction, embrace it).

You’re dumb.

Love ya, TLC!!!  :)

To the single ladies…

I read this post by the beautiful, amazing and just plain awesome Tara-Leigh Cobble and thought I’d share.

Here’s an excerpt:

Proverbs 31:12 says that the wife of noble character does her husband good, not harm, all the days of her life. ALL the days. Not just after they’re married. Not just after she meets him. It begins BEFORE he even sets foot in her world.

That means, for me as a single guy, I have to work, well before I meet the woman who will be my wife, toward being a man that deserves a woman like that.  Before she’s come into my life, I have to be a man (first and foremost a “man” and not a “guy”) that deserves her.

That really raises the bar of self, huh?  I’d like to say that in the recent months I’ve had a major shift and really taken this position as a true priority, but there’s still so much work to be done!

Thus far in California…

I’ve been able to check off two of the main things on my to-do list.

  1. In-n-Out burger
  2. Hear Erwin McManus at the Mayan

It’s been a fairly chill couple days on the West Coast.  But it’s been extremely amazing and full of blessing.  Check this out.  As of boarding my flight for LA, I still had not secured a place to stay for that night or the following.  When I got off my plane, I received a text from my boy, Tom P. saying he found me a place.  Moments later, I received a call from Diane.  She was at the airport to pick me up!

I already had a reservation for a car rental, but she talked me into changing it and said I could borrow one of their cars if I wanted to.  WHAT!?  They gave me a place to stay…their son’s bedroom, not just a couch and as we left the airport she asked if I was hungry and wanted to try In-n-Out Burger.  WHAT?!

Amazing.  These folks are awesome.  And it’s been a total blessing staying with them.

When we went to the Mayan, not only did I get to experience Mosaic, but while walking to the door from the parking lot, I met, shook hands and spoke with Erwin McManus.  I’m not going to say what car he was driving, but it’s my “logical” dream car.  You go, Erwin!

So that’s my Cali trip so far.  I feel like my internal clock has reset to at least within an hour of Pacific Time, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the week.  Today I’ll be hooking up with Trent Haaga and family and I think it’s going to be a week to remember!!
